Nearly all the April issues of the top fashion magazines had their cover stars wearing Louis Vuitton’s monochrome prints from the Spring/Summer 2013 catwalk. It seems that the fashion world has gone ga-ga for black and white in as many different patterns as you can think of.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This summer is all about the monochrome. Structured, satin, ruffled, flowing – however you want to wear it, just wear it. Louis Vuitton sent models down the catwalk in satin black and white chequered separates with plenty of skin on show. Balenciaga used an abundance of flamenco ruffles on skirt hems and used white as a base with black panels on tops.

Prada’s prints took Oriental inspiration with white flowers set on black fur – an unusual choice for summer – and sunglasses with black frames decorated with white flower embellishment topped off the looks.
